I am intrigued by the dualistic role animals play in our lives; they can be recipients of a projected humanity as we endeavour to protect them, honour them and seek their companionship, or they can be objects for our use, consumption and entertainment. I create, subvert and manipulate domestic ceramic objects and common-place sentimental figurines, to explore this paradox.

I exploit animal imagery used in everything from advertising and food packaging, to 19th century ceramics and I employ industrial ceramic techniques, to convey aspects of this often contradictory relationship.
