I graduated as a Fine Art printmaker in 1983, my work at the time reflecting my interest in textural landscapes. I studied later for a Masters in Ceramics at UWIC 2008-09, and now continue to investigate those same elements which excited me as a printmaker, but with clay.                                                                                                  My vessels are inspired by ancient, coastal landscapes near my home in Wales. I cast printed paper clay into forms which reference these places and use a monochrome palette to enhance the subtleties of surface.  Pieces are waxed to enhance details, but left unglazed so the clay is able to breathe and absorb warmth and light.  Placing the print vertically, in the round, encourages exploration of more than just one viewpoint.
